What is baseball IQ training, concretely?
Coached work on the decisions rather than the mechanics: pre-pitch positioning, where the throw goes, cutoffs and backups, baserunning reads, count awareness, and situational hitting. It is the part of the game most youth practices run out of time for.

My player has the tools but freezes in games. Is this the right thing?
Often, yes. Freezing is usually uncertainty rather than nerves — a player who has not rehearsed the decision has to work it out while the play is happening. Rehearsing the reads is what makes the reaction automatic.
Is this just a classroom session?
No. The reads are practised on the turf, not lectured. A player who can recite where the ball goes but has never done it at speed still hesitates in a game.
